    A: A service or repair of the expansion valve necessitates completing the refrigerant recovery and discharging procedures first. First remove the jack and access panel from behind the right-hand side rear quarter trim before moving on the valve. First disconnect the A/C lines from the expansion valve installed on the Evaporator core then remove this valve from its attachment point to the evaporator. Installation requires performing the reverse of removal steps while applying PAG Refrigerant Compressor Oil (R-134a Systems) F7AZ-19589-DA (Motorcraft YN-12-C) or another equivalent oil that meets Ford specification WSH-M1C231-B to lubricate the O-ring seals. The A/C system needs evacuation and leak testing before receiving a complete system charge.
