A/C Accumulation can be defined as a automotive tool used in the Ford Excursion vehicles and that is a very vital tool that is used in the cooling system. Sitting somewhere in between the evaporator and the compressor, this device in the form of a cylinder de-gasses the system by removing moisture, oil, and other unwanted particles. In this way the A/C Accumulator works effectively to expel the mentioned impurities thus contributing to the excellent performance of the A/C circuit of the vehicle. Over the years, Ford Excursion vehicles may have used different kinds or types of A/C Accumulators whereby all the kinds or types used served the same general purpose of providing for a clean and efficient system of cooling.

Ford Excursion A/C Accumulator Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Remove and Install an A/C Accumulator in an HVAC System on Ford Excursion?
    A:
The first requirement for suction accumulator HVAC servicing includes execution of the Refrigerant Discharging and Recovery Procedure. Besides a back up wrench use a back up wrench for connector P1/A and a back up wrench also for tubing EV7 to prevent damage to fitting and tube when removing the suction accumulator/drier. The suction accumulator/drier can be detached by first removing manifold and tube assembly parts followed by suction accumulator/drier bracket clamp bolt removal. The technician should disconnect the A/C cycling switch from the suction accumulator/drier following its removal. Installation requires following the reverse steps of removal while servicing the new suction accumulator with PAG Refrigerant Compressor Oil (R-134a Systems) F7AZ-19589-DA (Motorcraft YN-12-C) or any oil equivalent to Ford standard WSH-M1C231-B. Furthermore, apply the same PAG Refrigerant Compressor Oil to the O-ring seal. A secondary wrench must be used throughout installation to prevent mixing-up of fitting and tube damage.
