How to service and repair the voltage regulator in gasoline-engine generators on Ford Excursion?

Reading to fix the voltage regulator, lift the generator off (only with gasoline engines). Removal of the screws holding the regulator and the generator brush. Rebuild the brush and terminal holder and screw together. Cover Test Terminal A, replace the generator making sure to secure the voltage regulator.
