How to service and repair the throttle cable and linkage on Ford Expedition?

Service and repair operations on throttle cable and linkage should start by disconnecting the accelerator cable from both pedal and shaft components. The service and repair of the throttle cable and linkage begins with bolt removal from the left-hand side accelerator control splash shield followed by the right-hand side splash shield bolt before the splash shield can be removed. The accelerator cable clip must be removed first followed by squeezing the accelerator cable lock tabs situated in the passenger compartment to push the cable into the engine bay. Start by disconnecting both the accelerator cable and fitting from the accelerator cable bracket before sliding the accelerator cable off the throttle lever forwarding the throttle lever and letting the cable end disconnect. Follow the opposite steps used in removal to reinstall.
