How to Service and Repair the Cigarette Lighter Outlet on Ford Explorer Sport Trac?

The first step in servicing or repairing the cigarette lighter requires the user to disconnect the battery ground cable. Start by taking out the screws which hold the cigarette lighter receptacle to the panel before setting them to the side. First disconnect the cigarette lighter receptacle by removing its screws. Then disconnect the electrical connector followed by a simple screw uninstallation of the receptacle from the panel. The installation of the new cigarette lighter receptacle follows the opposite order of the removal steps.
