Service of the intake manifold requires a starting point consisting of disconnecting the battery ground cable. First raise the bolts and shield while dealing with the air cleaner outlet pipe until the tube separates with proper disconnect of the Mass Airflow (MAF) sensor wiring pushpin. The clamps should be loosened to take out the pipe. The service procedure requires the removal of Idle Air Control (IAC) valve electrical connectors together with
Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) electrical connectors and Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve vacuum hose connections. To access the
Throttle Body and bracket you must detach both the
Accelerator Cable and speed control cable while placing them to the side. After loosening the fitting disconnect the exhaust manifold-to-
EGR Valve tube and proceed to remove the electrical connector and vacuum hoses connected to the EGR valve vacuum regulator. First disconnect the hose then loosen its clamp to remove the brake booster vacuum hose. The procedures for right-hand spark plug wire coils require twisting the wire boots during upward pull to avoid damage while marking the locations beforehand for reference. The spark plug wire routing clip pushpin must be removed to relocate the wires next to their route. Begin by taking out the wiring harness bracket retainer which needs placement to the side of the harness followed by removing the accelerator cable routing clip pushpin and wiring harness pushpin. First detach the bolts alongside the bolt that secures the coil and bracket while also disconnecting all vacuum hoses. Start by removing the nut and then disconnecting the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) electrical connector followed by the ground wires before placing the wiring harness to the side. The electrical connector retainer should be detached first followed by removing the intake manifold bolts and raising the intake manifold. The removal process requires clearing heated PCV hose retainers followed by heated PCV fittings after unbolting the intake manifold. The installation process requires following the steps in the opposite order of removal.
