Intake Manifold

You should start the intake manifold service process with the removal of the air cleaner (ACL) outlet pipe. The service requires the first step to disconnect the knock sensor (KS) electrical connector followed by removing the PCV tube along with the brake booster vacuum hose and main vacuum harness fitting and evaporative emissions (EVAP) tube and EGR system module electrical connector. First disconnect the wiring harness retainer followed by detaching the EGR system module vacuum fitting then untighten the exhaust manifold-to-EGR system module tube from the EGR system module before securely tightening it to 34 Nm (25 lb-ft) during reinstallation. First remove the nut binding the wiring harness bracket to the electronic TB before disconnecting both the throttle position (TP) sensor electrical connector and electronic throttle body (TB) electrical connector. Reinstall the bracket with 9 Nm (80 lb-in). Tighten bolts, remove the intake manifold and its gaskets while utilizing plastic scraping tools to maintain sealing surfaces free from scratches. Additionally, check the gaskets and replace if needed. The finished installation consists of reinstalling the intake manifold after following steps in the reverse order then tightening its bolts to 11 Nm (8 lb-ft).

Begin by disconnecting the battery ground cable.

Detach the wiring harness retainer and disconnect the EGR system module vacuum fitting.
