A service of the hood latch begins by taking out the radiator grille. Start with the hood latch removal process by first removing its bolts before disconnecting its cable from the latch. Place the new latch correctly before fingertightening its bolts. Disengage the hood latch cable after installation before using the hood closure to adjust the latch positioning properly. After proper adjustment complete the bolt tightening process. The latch requires lubrication which should get Multi-Purpose Grease Spray F5AZ-19G209-AA or an equivalent that follows Ford specification ESR-M1C159-A. Finally, reinstall the radiator grille.
