Ford F-150 Parking Assist Distance Sensor Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to service and repair the parking assist distance sensor on Ford F-150?
A: Starting the parking assist distance sensor repair process requires the disconnect of its electrical connector from the parking aid sensor. By depressing the retaining tabs you can free up the sensor from the sensor bezel before extracting it through the rear Bumper opening. To install the new sensor place it into the bezel opening and deploy it until the retaining tabs achieve a locking position before connecting the electrical connector. The first step after installation requires using a scan tool to verify both parking aid sensor PIDs show no object detected and that attenuation PIDs show readings of 0 to 1.5 ms. The procedure ends with performing tests on both azimuth and elevation.
