How to service and repair the alternator on Ford F-250 Super Duty?

You need to disconnect the battery at the start of working on the alternator. Move on to releasing the accessory drive belt tension and pull it out from where it connects to the generator pulley. The generator battery positive cable nut requires hand-starting before installation to prevent cross-threading issues. First disconnect the generator wire harness through removal of the generator bracket retainer and then remove the generating battery positive cable nut. Free the two connectors from the electrical wires and place the harness away. The generator bracket bolts need removal followed by the lower bolts being loosened but kept intact before extracting the generator from the vessel. The installation concludes by performing all steps in reverse order of what was done during the removal process.
