The air cleaner intake pipe requires removal before servicing vehicles which have 5.4L engines. Detach the tension on the accessory Drive Belt followed by removing the drive belt from the generator pulley. Untighten the four bracket bolts then you can free the harness locator while you should retighten these bolts to 10 Nm (89 lb-in) during reinstallation. Completely uninstall the generator by taking out its two retaining bolts before performing the reinstallation step while tightening these bolts to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft). Sever the two generator electrical connectors. To avoid cross-threading when putting back the generator B+ terminal nut use hand power and start it carefully before removing the nut and placing the terminal aside for reinstallation tightening to 8 Nm (71 lb-in). Finish by taking out the generator while redirecting it through a backward installation process.
