How to service the ignition coil-on-plug on Ford Five Hundred?

Service of the ignition coil-on-plug requires removal of the upper intake manifold first. All ignition coil electrical connectors need to be disconnected first and then ignition coil bolts need to be removed while tightening them to 6 Nm (53 lb in) during reinstallation. Insert a slight twisting movement to weaken the seal on ignition coils before removing them. After performing the reverse operations follow by applying a thin layer of Silicone Brake Caliper Grease and Dielectric Compound XG-3-A that complies with Ford specifications ESE-M1C171-A inside each coil boot prior to securement.
