How to Service and Repair the Main Bearing Crankshaft Seal on Ford Flex?

In order to fix crankshaft main bearing seal, strip away the oil pan and remove engine with the help of crane. Unscrew the CKP sensor, take out the rear crankshaft seal and undo the retainer bolts. Wipe off the retainer surface and the sealing surface and make sure not to leave any contamination before reassembling.

To service crankshaft rear seal, make sure that the vehicle is on neutral on a hoist. Take out flexplate and crankshaft sensor ring. Dispose of the old seal with a crankshaft rear oil seal remover, clean the surface, lubricate the new seal and install it with the rear main seal installer. Connection of sensor ring and flexplate.
