How to service and repair the radiator on Ford Focus?

Maintenance of the radiator should start by positioning the vehicle in neutral using a hoist. The service starts with removal of the battery ground wire alongside dual electric cooling fan cable connectors. Start by draining the cooling system before removing the cooling fan motors along with the shroud from their retainer brackets by lowering them from the vehicle. First detach the discharge connector of the horn followed by releasing the clamp to break both upper and lower radiator hoses connections. The removal of five pushpins allows you to detach the lower radiator splash shield. Detach and support the air conditioning condenser that exists on vehicles with this feature. Pull the wiring harness retaining clip off from the bracket located on the radiator support. The transmission fluid cooler requires detachment from the combination of 2 RH and 1 LH bracket before you support the fluid cooler. Secure the lower core support using 4 bolts which require tightening at 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.) when installing them back. To install the new radiator complete the uninstallation steps in reverse order before performing system filling and bleeding.
