Ford Focus Shock Absorber Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to service the shock absorber on the wagon on Ford Focus?
A: Start shock absorber servicing procedures by removing the wheel and tire from the rear section of the wagon. You must detach the exhaust system from the rear hanger insulator before you can remove the exhaust heat shield on the left-hand shock absorber. After placing a transmission jack beneath the lower arm remove both the upper retaining bolt as well as the shock absorber itself. The procedure to tighten the lower retaining bolt should be completed when the vehicle stands on its road wheels. Lower and unscrew the transmission jack as you finish installing both the shock absorber and its upper bolt. Place the left-hand shock absorber then return the exhaust heat shield and reassemble the exhaust system to the rear hanger insulator. You should install the rear wheel with tire while tightening the lower retaining bolt.
