How to service the outer tie rod on Ford Focus?

Loosen jam nut with vehicle in a hoist. Through hex hold delete, discard tie-rod end nut; fit new nut, 35 Nm torque. Insert tie-rod end remover, take turns. Do not reuse knuckle nut, failure will result in steering loss/injury. Install front toe, install on 80 Nm jam nut.

First to fix the inner tie rod, make sure that bellows boots are airtight, and use no zip ties. Take off the outer tie rod and jam nut, and then the bellows boot. Making sure that it does not rotate, remove and install inner tie rod using a wrench. Position the bellows boot and then grease it and reassemble it. Adjust front toe as needed.
