How to service and repair the steering wheel on Ford Focus?

A complete steering wheel service starts with removing the driver air bag module while performing centering operations on the wheel. Before beginning the work start by eliminating the ignition key and locking the steering wheel in position first. Then continue with removing the speed control electrical connector if present followed by removing the bolt for steering wheel removal. It is necessary to centralize the sliding contact on the air bag during install to avoid personal injuries. Check the installed steering wheel position on the steering column shaft by making counterclockwise turns. The installation process requires the same steps in reverse order to the removal process.
