The gasket sealing surfaces on EGR system module should not have their gasket reused because they are made of lightweight metals. The two EGR system module bolts should be removed before discarding the gasket. Clean both gasket-contacting surfaces thoroughly. Before installation use a new gasket which should have the raised circle side facing the intake manifold and then tighten the bolts to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).
