How to Service the Canister Purge Valve and the Evaporative Emission Canister on Ford Freestar?

In order to maintain the canister purge valve and evaporative emission canister, disconnection of the battery ground cable is necessary to avoid catching fire. Take valve panel off the cowl and pull up the carload of the canister. Take off in the order of removal and in the reverse order put it in the machine. Carry out leak test and verification drive cycle later.

In order to service the Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Valve, unplug the battery ground cable, the cowl panel grille and electrical connector. Dislodge the quick connect fittings, lift out the mounting nuts and disassemble the valve. Reverse the process, tighten to 12 Nm and leak test.
