How to Service the Crankshaft Position Sensor on Ford Freestyle?

Start the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor service by having the vehicle in neutral while on the hoist. First disconnect the battery ground cable followed by removal of seven pin-type retainers and right-hand splash shield. The service of the crankshaft position sensor requires disconnecting its electrical connector followed by bolt removal from the sensor. During the process of installing the new CKP sensor it is essential to fasten the bolt to 10 Nm (89 lb-in) using standard installation steps to finish the job.
