How to Service the Rear Door Latch Assembly on Ford Fusion?

Service of the rear door latch requires exterior rear door handle removal followed by removing the rear door window regulator and motor and the rear door window glass. After removing the three rear door latch bolts you should tighten them to 8 Nm (71 lb-in) according to the installation directions. Start by unscrewing the exterior rear door handle reinforcement until it becomes movable before pulling out the rear door latch by working toward vehicle front. Owners need to detach the exterior rear door handle actuating rod after taking out the three screws holding the rear door latch bracket. Lubricate the rear door latch to striker surfaces prior to installing it. Reverse the removal process to complete the installation of the parts.
