How to service the alternator on Ford Mustang?

You need to disconnect the battery as your first step for servicing the alternator. After relieving the accessory drive belt tension follow by removing it from the generator pulley while keeping it in place for reinstallation. Disruption of the new style connector with its press-to-release tab should be avoided at all costs to protect the connector and harness from damage. The removal process includes disconnecting the generator through removing electrical connectors as well as the battery positive cable nut. The generator removal process ends with taking out upper and lower generator bolts. You should follow the opposite steps of the removal process for installation.
