How to Service the EGR Valve on Ford Ranger?

The exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve service process requires disconnecting the battery ground cable then draining the cooling system. Your service of the EGR valve requires disconnecting the coolant bypass hose and the EGR valve electrical connector. The shifting mechanism of manual transmission vehicles needs to be eliminated before the service process begins. First remove the rear driveshaft as well as the exhaust downpipe. A suitable transmission jack should support the transmission while technicians remove three bolts on each side of the crossmember and detach the transmission electrical connector from the crossmember before tightening all bolts to 99 Nm (73 lb-ft) each time.
