How to service the EGR valve on Ford Ranger?

A service of the EGR valve starts with draining the cooling system and disconnecting the ground cable from the battery. The EGR valve electrical connector must be detached before the removal of the rear driveshaft. You should remove the bolts that keep the catalytic converter fastened next to the muffler while throwing away the exhaust converter outlet gasket. The support system for transmission jack should match manual or automatic transmission standards during the procedure. Begin by removing the six bolts that secure the crossmember in place at each frame side before you can remove both retaining nuts along with the crossmember itself. Lowen the transmission by enough clearance and then disconnect EGR coolant hose followed by bolt removal of the EGR valve while discarding the gasket. The installation process requires following the opposite order of removal that includes gasket surface cleaning and replacement of gaskets on both parts.
