How to service and repair the evaporator core on Ford Ranger?

A replacement of the suction accumulator/drier is not needed unless significant system contamination exists or the A/C compressor fails or when the suction accumulator/drier suffers damage. Before removing the A/C evaporator core check for any possible leaks through an appropriate testing method. Begin by taking out the suction accumulator/drier after which you should detach the screws to shift both the A/C vacuum reservoir tank and bracket if they exist. Remove the bolt fastening the speed control servo then unscrew its connector when speed control servo is featured. The Spring Lock Coupling Disconnect and Connect procedure will help you sever the condenser to evaporator tube from the A/C evaporator core. The windshield washer hose retainer requires disconnection while setting the washer reservoir on its side and indirectly the vacuum hose and retainer must also be detached. First take out the nut from inside the passenger compartment and proceed with removing the bracket nuts and screws that support the A/C accumulator bracket. You can begin by removing cover screws while pulling off the clips before extracting the A/C evaporator core. The installation requires the reversal of removal steps while using Motorcraft YN-12c Refrigerant oil or an equivalent that matches Ford WSH-M1C231-B specification to lubricate the O-Ring seal and to add adequate oil to the replacement A/C evaporator core.
