How to replace the headlight bulb on Ford Ranger?

The first step to replace the headlamp bulb involves removing the headlamp housing while handling the bulb carefully by touching its base only because the halogen bulb carries pressure gas that can shatter if you drop and damage the glass envelope. Remove the headlamp bulb only moments before installation because waiting allows particles to drop onto both the lens and reflector. Additionally never power up the headlamps when a bulb is left uninstalled. After disconnecting power begin turning the headlamp bulb retainer counterclockwise one-eighth rotation to remove the headlamp bulb. The new headlamp bulb requires insertion followed by retainer clockwise rotation up to one-eighth turn and electrical connector reconnection.
