How to Service and Repair the Floor Shift Interlock Solenoid on Ford Taurus?

In order to fix the Brake Shift Interlock Actuator, de-power the SRS, remove the center console and de-connect the ignition/shifter interlock cable. Disassemble the LH lower instrument panel trim, electrical connectors and lower steering column. Once the actuator assembly is removed, verify that the interlock operation is correct and then invert the process back then re-power the SRS.
