Users of early build vehicles which manufactured before May 18, 2009 need to use Motorcraft® Premium Gold Engine Coolant but late build vehicles manufactured after this date require Motorcraft® Specialty Green Engine Coolant. Mixing these different types of coolant can result in degradation of protection against corrosion as well as possible engine or cooling system damage. The final installation requires the reversal of removal steps followed by engine coolant lubrication of the new O-ring seals. Complete the cooling system filling by bleeding all air out of its system.
