  A: The first step to service the side impact sensor inside the second row C-pillar of the Taurus X requires an inspection on the restraints control module (RCM) and impact sensor mounting points for crash-induced deformations. Installation of new RCM sensors and sensors should be carried out regardless of air bag deployment because failing to do so could lead to fatal injuries during accidents. The air bag warning indicator activates once both the right RCM fuse gets removed and the ignition switch turns ON.
