How to Service the Heated Oxygen Sensor on Ford Taurus X?

Start the service of Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) by first securing the vehicle on a hoist using neutral gear position. The electrical connector of the HO2S must be disconnected. Penetrating and lock lubricant serves to minimize resistance when removing the sensor by applying it to its threads. The Exhaust Gas Oxygen Sensor Socket enables you to remove the HO2S while following torque calculations for the specified torque level. Work through the following steps for new HO2S installation while applying light anti-seize lubrication to its threads then tight the sensor to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft). Continue by performing the removal steps in opposite order to finish the installation.
