The service process for battery cables begins with unmounting the battery tray. First disconnect the bolt then position the battery cable body ground terminal aside but tighten the bolt to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft) when reinstalling. Remove the battery junction box (BJB) cable terminal by taking out the nut before installation where you should tighten it to 8 Nm (71 lb-in). After removing the starter solenoid terminal cover and loosening its nut you can place the battery cable starter solenoid terminal aside while reattaching it with 12 Nm (9 lb-ft). You should remove the nut to position the battery cable starter motor terminal in its place before tightening it to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft) in the reinstallation stage. Move the engine ground terminal of the battery cable before removing its bolt and return it back to place by applying 12 Nm (9 lb-ft) of torque during final installation. You should remove the battery cable at the intake manifold top along with the three battery cable locators from the left-hand valve cover. After removing the generator protective cover you should take out the generator nut followed by setting the B+ terminal aside while tightening everything to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft). The battery cables must be eliminated before following the installation steps in reverse order.
