    The parking assist distance sensor service and repair starts by taking off the rear Bumper cover on all sedan and wagon body types. The vehicle should be in neutral mode while positioned on a hoist for service project access. You need to disconnect the parking aid sensor electrical connector after which you must press the retaining tabs to let go of the sensor(s) for removal. Installation requires the same removal backward order with application of two coats including base and clear for the sensor(s). Verify the parking aid sensor PIDs show no object present while the parking aid sensor attenuation PIDs show values between 0.8-1.6 ms by using a scanner after sensor installation. The sensor paint needs to be repainted because the attenuation PIDs fail to remain between 0.8-1.6 ms.
