How to service the ambient temperature sensor for the HVAC system on Ford Thunderbird?

To maintain the ambient temperature sensor of the HVAC system, pop-up the vehicle and unscrew the splash shield screws then unscrew it. Then disconnect the ambient air temperature sensor and disconnect its electrical connector. The installation process is done by reversing these steps.
