Lincoln Blackwood Heater Core Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the heater core on Lincoln Blackwood?
A: Service and repair of the heater core starts by performing a pressure leak test when leakage is suspected but only after completely emptying the Radiator. Begin the heating core service by removing the instrument panel then the junction block splash shield. First disconnect the starter relay through bolt removal and cable-end detachment and set the junction block bracket to the side after unbolting it. Begin service and repair of the heater core by removing the A/C plenum demister adapter after unfastening its screw followed by disconnecting the heater core hose couplings. The relay bracket will be shifted aside after loosening the screws which also allows for disconnecting the vacuum line. You should first eliminate the plenum chamber top by eliminating its 15 screws before extracting the blend door assembly from the case and extracting the heater core. Follow the opposite steps for installation by applying coolant hose lubricant or plain water to the coolant hoses.
