How to service and repair the parking brake cable on Lincoln LS?

Begin procedures for the parking brake cable repair by removing the console then pulling the tab slide handle. After fully pressing the tension arm down with a screwdriver users should move the arm down while freeing the screwdriver. Afterward move to the removal of the cable anchor pin. The conduit retaining prongs should be depresseed using a 13mm box-end wrench to achieve parking brake cable and conduit removal from the control. The first step should be vehicle suspension along with disconnecting the rear parking brake cables and discarding the equalizer. The cable needs to be removed after freeing its front grommet from within the vehicle floor. The new cable installation requires mechanics wire to be tied to both cable and conduit. A 13mm box-end wrench should be used to depress the conduit retaining prongs for removing parking brake cable and conduit. The installation should be performed in the opposite order of removal steps.
