How to Service and Repair the Power Steering Hose to Fluid Cooler Return on Lincoln Mark LT?

Service and repair of the steering gear to fluid cooler return hose requires the vehicle to be in NEUTRAL position on a hoist. A proper suction tool should extract power steering fluid from the reservoir container. First sever the steering line clamp plate bolt before rotating the clamp plate for removing the return line which requires 23 Nm (17 lb-ft) torque tension when reinstalling. Loosen the clamp and mark the hose before removing its connection to the power steering fluid cooler for removal of the return line. You should reverse the uninstallation steps while filling the power steering system to finish the installation. The installation process requires constant attention to avoid foreign material entry because such materials may cause power steering components to fail.
