Lincoln Mark LT Rear Crossmember Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How is the Rear Crossmember Serviced on Lincoln Mark LT?
    A:
The repair of the rear cross-member begins when you put the vehicle onto a hoist while setting the transmission gear to neutral. The exhaust hanger bolts need removal while also ensuring a 40 Nm (30 lb-ft) torque on these bolts when reinstalling. After removing the two heat shield screws service technicians should tighten them to 20 Nm (15 lb-ft) prior to replacement. A suitable jack must sustain the transmission before removing the two support nuts that require a torque specification of 76 lb-ft (103 Nm). The four transmission support crossmember bolts must be removed while you should torque them to 115 Nm (85 lb-ft) before reinstalling. Finish the project by putting back the transmission support crossmember while following the reverse steps of removal.
