Service of the throttle position sensor (TP) begins by disconnecting the electric connection. Safe removal of TP sensor screws requires special attention because this process demands starting with hand tool loosening of two turns then finishing with a high-speed driver to take out the screws. Discard the two screws together with the TP sensor unit. Always use new installation components for the TP sensor since the reuse of old parts is not authorized. The radial locator tab on the sensor needs alignment with the radial locator hole present on the throttle body when installing the new TP sensor. Set the new TP sensor into position and apply the two new screws correctly by tightening them to 3 Nm (27 lb-in). Reconnect the electrical connector of the TP sensor as the final installation step.
