How to service and repair the ignition coil-on-plug on Lincoln Mark LT?

In order to service the ignition coil-on-plug, remove the ignition coil connector and the battery. Take the securing bolt away and then remove the coil. Fit in the new coil, tightening to 6 Nm (53 lb-in). Make sure that the spring is in place and the tip of the boots is not damaged. Undo the process of removing, and use dielectric compound in the boots.
