Beginning any front door window regulator and motor service requires disabling the motor component under three specified conditions. Start the process by taking off the window control switch and then proceed with unmounting the front door trim panel together with the water shield and front door speaker. Refasten the window control switch to drop the window glass before accessing the locking tabs of the glass-to-regulator clamp. A proper tool should be used to press each locking tab forward while lifting the glass with gentle force to detach it from the regulator clamp. To properly install the glass bend it into the clamps until you hear a distinct click which signals correct position. Silicone tape should cover the window in its highest position before disconnecting the motor electrical connection. The window regulator and motor assembly should be removed from the door while breaking in the window regulator fasteners with 11 Nm (97 lb-in) torque which needs to be applied during reassembly. When reversing the removal steps one must follow the installation procedure although initialization of the motor should occur after installing new front window regulator and motor components. The original front window motor requires de-initialization before an initialization procedure.
