How to service and repair the door lock cylinder on Lincoln MKX?

In order to fix the door lock cylinder, remove the exterior door handle, and optionally the handle reinforcement. Flick the lock cylinder out by pressing the retaining tab. Throw away the defective cylinder and assemble a new one using lock repair package. Lastly, undo the steps of removal to install.
