How to Service the Drive Shaft on Lincoln MKX?

The service procedure of driveshafts requires users to index both driveshaft flanges before beginning. Set the vehicle onto a hoist system with the transmission shaft set to neutral position. The service requires replacement of new constant velocity (CV) joint bolts because employing old ones could damage the system; technicians should remove all 4 transfer case-to-front driveshaft bolts before installing fresh ones which must be tightened to 70 Nm (52 lb-ft). Discard all U-joint flange bolts before installation of new ones according to a torque specific of 70 Nm (52 lb-ft). Remove the 4 center bearing support nuts together with the driveshaft under assistance while following the torque requirements of 40 Nm (30 lb-ft) for reinstallation. The driveshaft needs to be indexed when vibration appears post installation so the reinstallation procedure should be executed in reverse fashion.
