Lincoln MKZ A/C Condenser Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to Service and Repair the A/C Condenser Core on Lincoln MKZ?
A: The condenser core service and repairs require the recovery of refrigerant as the first step. Place the vehicle in neutral position on a hoist then eliminate the cooling fan. To start service and repair of the condenser core remove the washer reservoir filler neck bolt followed by disconnecting the two condenser fitting nuts while discarding the gasket seals. Screw the condenser fittings tightly to 15 Nm (11 lb-ft). Proceed by unclipping the two radiator brackets from the radiator core support before pushing the cooling module to the back to remove the two brackets. Drain pans should be placed under each power steering hose connection before you loosen the two clamps at the condenser to disconnect the hoses. To extract the condenser core first separate the condenser manifold pin-type retainer then release the two condenser clips at the radiator and finally free the condenser from the radiator. The installation procedure starts with reversing the removal steps while installing new gasket seals and applying the correct amount of clean PAG oil to the refrigerant system. The conclusion of power steering system maintenance includes filling it with fluid before evacuating all air then testing for leaks to finish with refrigerant charging.
