Lincoln MKZ A/C Hose Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to service and repair the A/C Hose for the compressor manifold and tube assembly in 3.0L and 3.5L on Lincoln MKZ?
A: Start by recovering the refrigerant in 3.0L and 3.5L vehicles before hoisting the vehicle in NEUTRAL for compressor manifold and tube assembly remediation and maintenance work. For service and repair of the compressor manifold and tube assembly you must discard gasket seals when eliminating the bolt that connects the compressor manifold to the A/C compressor. Retigthen this new bolt to 15 Nm (133 lb-in). The next procedure requires workers to remove two coolant reservoir hose retainers from the assembly along with the washer reservoir filler neck bolt before tightening the bolt to 6 Nm (53 lb-in) during reinstallation. Tighten new suction fitting nut along with new condenser inlet fitting nut up to 15 Nm (133 lb-in) after removing their gasket seals. During 3.5L removal proceed by turning the compressor manifold and tube counterclockwise until it passes between the exhaust manifold shield and the Alternator before removal of the assembly. Users handling 3.0L vehicles need to execute the same safety measure to prevent A/C lines from striking hard surfaces during extractor removal. The installation of new gasket seals and correct PAG oil application with refrigerant system lubrication must follow reverse removal procedures before conducting evacuations and finishing with leak tests and refrigerant charging.
