- Q: How to Service and Repair the A/C Hose Manifold and Tube Assembly on All on Lincoln MKZ?A:The first step for servicing the Thermostatic Expansion Valve Manifold and Tube Assembly on every vehicle requires recovery of refrigerant. Rogers 3.5L vehicle staff should remove the Power Steering Reservoir then place it out of the way. First break loose the TXV manifold and tube bracket bolt before tightening it to 8 Nm (71 lb-in) when reassembling. You should disconnect the TXV manifold with tube assembly from its wire harness clip before you take off the fitting nut that connects the condenser-to-evaporator line and discard the gasket seal then tighten the fitting to 15 Nm (133 lb-in) when reinstalling it. The next step includes removing the compressor manifold and tube suction fitting nut until the connection separates while disposing of the gasket seal before reinstallation at 15 Nm (133 lb-in). First disconnect the electrical connector of the A/C pressure transducer before unclipping the wire harness from the TXV manifold and tube. Perform TXV fitting nut removal before disconnecting the fitting along with discarding the gasket seals whenever you reinstall it tightly at 15 Nm (133 lb-in). The last steps include removing the TXV manifold and tube whereas installation requires a reverse removal order while adding new gasket seals and providing proper PAG oil lubrication for the system. The system completion requires evacuation testing followed by refrigerant system charging.
