Service of the side marker lamp must start with the vehicle placed in NEUTRAL position on a hoist. The service begins with unfastening the screw and the fender splash shield access cover. The first step for Fusion and Milan models requires users to pull the side marker lamp tabs before they can remove the lamp while disconnecting the electrical connector. The bulb holder of the MKZ needs approximately a one-eighth counterclockwise rotation to remove it before disconnecting the electrical connector for lamp retrieval from the headlamp unit. The opposite steps should be performed to install the new marker lamp.
