How to Ensure Proper Maintenance of the Starter in a Lincoln MKZ?

To maintain the starter motor, take out the battery tray, and the wire harness. Remove the solenoid wire nut and battery cable nut, and install it back in place with tightening to 5 Nm and 12 Nm respectively. Take out the starter motor bolts tightening them to 27 Nm to re-fit. Protective caps can then be replaced.
