    Service of the starter motor begins with disconnecting the battery ground cable because it stops electrical hazards. The service procedure begins with ACL elimination and the separation of the transmission shift cable that connects to the transmission manual control lever including its adjustment lock. The rotation slide snap on the transmission shift cable needs to be detached before setting the cable aside so you can remove the nut from the transmission manual control lever and install it to 18 Nm (159 lb-in) torque. First remove the starter motor terminal cover followed by the starter motor solenoid battery cable nut and tighten it to 12 Nm (106 lb-in) when reattaching it. The process of disassembly requires first unfastening the starter motor solenoid wire nut while setting its torque to 5 Nm (44 lb-in) during reinstallation. After disconnecting the wiring harness retainer from the starter motor stud bolt the wiring harness should be placed to the side. The starter motor bolt and stud bolt need removal before removing the starter unit while reinstallation requires tightness of 27 Nm (20 lb-ft). Finish the installation by following the opposite steps of removal.

When reinstalling the transmission manual control lever maintain a torque of 18 Nm (13 lb-ft) on the retaining nut. When installing the starter motor solenoid battery cable you should tighten it to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft) torques. When reinstalling the starter motor solenoid wire the operator should tighten it to 5 Nm (44 lb-in). Pull away the wiring harness retainer which fastens to the starter motor stud bolt and place the wiring harness to the side. Start by removing the starter motor stud bolt and starter bolt then detach the starter unit for reinstillation and bolt the starter to 27 Nm (20 lb-ft) torque. Finish the installation by conducting the reverse steps of the removal process.
