How to service and repair the piston on Lincoln Navigator?

Service and repair of the piston begins with removing piston rings followed by their disposal. Piston retainer clips and the piston pin need removal before separating the piston from the connecting rod. Inspect and clean both piston components together with connecting rod. The connecting rod needs placement within the piston which must have its identification markings pointed toward the front. Clean engine oil should be used to both lubricate the piston pin and pin bore before installing the piston pin inside the connecting rod assembly. After securing the piston pin with retaining clips you should apply clean engine oil on both the piston and new piston rings before installing the rings onto the piston.
