In order to repair the oil cooler, lift the car, un-hook battery, and empty fluids. Take away hoses, filter, and gasket and inspecting the cooler of metal. To prevent damage, install a new gasket and filter, tighten them as indicated, re-connect hoses, fill the oil into the system and bleed the cooling system.

How to service the oil cooler on Lincoln Town Car?

When servicing the oil cooler, make sure that the vehicle is on neutral in a hoist. Empty the cooling system, change the oil filter and dispose it and lubricate the O-ring of the new filter. Disconnect the hoses of the oil cooler, inspect it of metal debris, and disassemble the oil cooler. Installation can be reversed.
