How to service and repair the oil cooler on Lincoln Town Car?

Service and repair procedures for the oil cooler should start with placing the vehicle in NEUTRAL gear on a hoist. First remove the cooling system fluid while extracting the oil filter then dispose of it properly. Clean engine oil should be used to lubricate the O-ring seal before placing the new oil filter. Medium Nm force (89 inch lbs.) should be used to secure oil cooler hoses to the oil filter adapter after detaching them from the adapter. Users should exercise extreme care during inspections because metal or aluminum materials inside the oil cooler or hoses point to machine defects. The worker needs to loosen coolant hose clamps so he can disconnect the hoses then remove the oil cooler together with hoses as one unit during inspection of the oil cooler components. The installation will be finished by performing the reverse steps of removal.
