The exhaust manifold replacement process starts with placing the vehicle in neutral position and hoisting it before proceeding. Start by removing both the exhaust downpipe and exhaust intermediate pipe before disconnecting the electrical connector of the heated
Oxygen Sensor (HO2S). The first step is to take out both the 4 exhaust manifold heat shield bolts along with the heat shield itself. Remove the 7 nuts from the exhaust manifold while discarding them for the exhaust manifold removal alongside the gasket. Pluck out the 7 exhaust manifold fasteners while discarding them afterward clean and visually inspect the exhaust manifold. 7 new exhaust manifold studs require installation according to 17 Nm (150 lb-in) torque setting. The correct torque specification for catalytic converter nuts must be achieved before you install the converter bracket bolts to stop exhaust leaks. You need to first use new nuts and the exhaust manifold gasket to attach and tighten the exhaust manifold in two steps of 48 Nm (35 lb-ft). The installation process includes replacing the exhaust manifold heat shield through reinstallation of its 4 bolts which should be tightened to 10 Nm (89 lb-in). Afterward, reinstall the exhaust downpipe and exhaust intermediate pipe.
